The third day of the training camp saw the first friendly match of the winter. The opponents being last season's Croatian third placed side and cup winners HNK Rijeka. The game was played in Umag and manager Gabor Marton chose the following side: Rockov - Fiola, Tamas, Musliu, Zeke - Alef - Houri, Pinto - Dardai, Zivzivadze, Geresi.

The game began with some heavy tackles from the Croatian side with Houri twice being fouled inside six minutes. Rockov produced a good save early on after 6 minutes but there wasn't any real action in front of either goal for a long period after. Kulenovic had a header after 24 minutes from close range fail to find the target. Then another period without chances followed. Keeper Rockov did well to run out and clear with the opponents appealing, but the match official waved play on. That brought an end to the first 45 minutes. 

Vidi lined-up for the second half as follows: Kovacs - Bolla, Rus, Stopira, Hangya - Nyari, Nikolov - Petryak, Nikolic, Funsho - Szabo. Rijeka saw more of the ball but it was Szabo who had the first shot of the second period after 59 minutes. His shot from 18 meters was dealt with by the alert Nwolokor. The red and blues  took the lead after 65 minutes: Funsho receiving a fine ball from Nyari, but his shot was saved by the Rijeka keeper. The rebound fell to Niko, who also shot at goal, but the fall ended again at the feet of Funsho, who made no mistake from close range to make it 1-0.

Keeper Kovacs pulled off a good save from 70 minutes from a tight angle. Then following a corner 3 minutes later, Funsho headed in front of goal and Rus acrobatically tried to produce a scissor-kick, which forced Nwolokor into an impressive save. Nikolic was judged off-side after 82 minutes when he had a chance at goal. Rijeka tried to attack in the closing moments but they could not really find a way through on the Vidi goal. The one minute of injury time did not bring any changes and Vidi won their first friendly game 1-0.

We are next in action on Sunday afternoon against Austrian first division side Sturm Graz.
