As a child, who or what inspired you to become a footballer?

The answer to that question is very simple. I know that many people think that Messi or Ronaldo are the best players in the world, they are undoubtedly great players, but for me Ronaldinho is 'God'.

And who do you consider to be the best player currently active?

That is a much more difficult question. It's perhaps understandable that my heart goes out to French players, so I would say Kylian Mbappe.

Hungary is the fifth country other than your home country that you've played in, having previously appeared for Spanish, Dutch, Israeli and Portuguese clubs. What are your first impressions here?

The more countries you play in, the easier it is to adapt to a new one, but of course Hungary will be a new environment for me. I've only been here for barely two weeks, my first experiences have been positive, I've met nice people, but in the future I want to explore the country much more.

Did you come to Hungary with your family?

They were here with me when I moved to Fehérvár and they will be back, but now they are in Grenoble, France (Franck Bambock played football here for the last two seasons - ed.) because my older daughter is finishing school. After that, my wife and two children will join me and we will rent an apartment in Budapest, where the children will be able to go to a French-language school.

What made you choose Vidi?

I felt that the head coach was very keen for me to come and that was very convincing for me. In fact, that was the deciding factor, because I have seen in my career how important it is when the coach wants you as a player.

How much have you been able to talk to him since you arrived?

Not very much, I'm sure we'll have more time for that in the future, but in training I've noticed that we have a very good coach and the style of play we practice is very close to my heart.

How are the training sessions different from your previous teams?

It's difficult to say because we are in the preparation period at the moment and at this time, with all teams, there is a lot of emphasis on hard work and physical preparation. Compared to the training sessions in France so far, I have found that while here we have slightly shorter but more intense training sessions, there we have had longer but slightly less intense training sessions.

Who is your best friend in the team?

Lily (Lyes Houri - ed.), he's the easiest to communicate with because we speak the same language. The others have also been very welcoming, the atmosphere in the dressing room is good, I haven't felt that anyone is trying to boss me around, for example.

What have you heard about Hungarian football and the championship?

I was talking to Lily about it in the dressing room and he said that the league games are high quality and the tempo is high, but it was the same in France, so there shouldn't be any big surprises (laughs).

What are your strengths?

I'm active in building attacks and organising the game, and because I play as a defensive midfielder, I can also be relied on to win the ball back.

What goals did you set for yourself when you joined Fehérvár?

I want to give my maximum to help the club achieve its goals. I know that last season didn't go well, but our goal is to do better this season.

What are the most important tasks for you in the next few weeks before the league starts?

I need to focus as much as possible on the preparation process, training hard and doing everything I can to be in the best possible shape for the start of the championship.
