Looking back 2022 - JANUARY: Attila Fiola's goal was voted the sports moment of the previous year

In our series, we recall one defining moment from each of the 12 months of the year. In the 2022 Sports Moment of the Year category, the Hungarian national team and MOL Fehérvár FC defender Attila Fiola won with his goal in the European Championship against France.
 

2022 did not start well for our team, as our club decided to cancel the training camp in Spain due to the positive PCR tests. We had reason for joy and pride when the most successful athletes and teams of the past year were honoured on the evening of 6th January at the 64th M4 Sport - Sportsman of the Year Gala, held in the National Theatre. The Sports Moment of the Year category was won by the Hungarian national team and MOL Fehérvár FC defender Attila Fiola for his goal against France at the European Championship. 

In mid-January, our club extended Dániel Kovács' contract for three years, and we beat Sturm Graz by two goals in a pre-season match. One day before his 77th birthday, János Németh, who has been with the club for 40 years, celebrated his jubilee.

In the first match of the year we lost 1-0 in Felcsút.
