Joan Carrillo:

I knew it would be a difficult game and this is how it turned out. The Szeged coaching team have worked really hard and have organised their team well. We wanted to control the match and we battled but the first goal did not arrive. The first half did not go too well. The home side remained organised in the second half and although we had some big chances, we did not convert them. Mistakes are part of football and we also ended up missing a penalty this evening. The players still put in a lot of work in the game. We scored the winning goal in extra time and managed to make it into the next round."

Joao Janeiro:

"Firstly I wish to congratulate Vidi on going through. Also to my colleague Joan Carrillo who has now won his first two matches. This was our fifth game in nine days and for various reasons, we have 50% of our squad unavailable. This period is very demanding for us. I am very proud of those who were out there on the pitch. I have to say that we had to play with what we had left of our squad. Naturally we also had chances when our opponents gambled and went forward to try and score a goal. We only had 8 players on the pitch when we conceded the goal. One of our central defenders had received treatment and was signalling in vain that he wanted to come back on. The match officials did not allow him back onto the pitch. Perhaps this played a part in the communication error."
