Marko Nikolic: Our game was like an empty balloon today

The two managers shared their thoughts after the final whistle.

Marko Nikolic:

"I first want to congratulate MTK who played well. Our game today was like an empty balloon. We had no energy and the 7 games in the last 20 days together with lots of travelling for the team showed. Our play and attitude in the first half was not suitable, and we lost plenty of balls. This is not typical of us in the league since I have been here. Although we created chances in the second half, it appeared that if we had played for 2 days, we still would not have scored. MTK converted their chances and settled the game. The stands inside the stadium were empty and we had no energy. We have been rotating 13-14 players and have brought in 2 players, but they need time to adjust. We knew it would be hard to compete in three competitions. We are up once and then down. Let's hope that we will be up more times"

Feczkó Tamás:

I want to congratulate both Vidi and Marko Nikolic for what they have done this season in European competition. This has given back the belief to Hungarian supporters following the great performance at Stamford Bridge. The home team were tired and we played well and tactically. The players all played their part in this success. We played really well in the first half and scored two goals as well as hit the post. We also had other chances. We knew that Vidi would put us under pressure in the second half, and we had some fortune before we scored the third goal to settle the game. I give praise to my players and cannot find a better word than we played with intelligence.
