Vidi played their final friendly game of the Spanish pre-season camp against second division side Elche on Thursday afternoon. Elche ended last season in 13th place in the Spanish first division, but administration problems resulted in them being demoted to the second division this season. Elche head coach is former Valladolid, Atletico Madrid and Valencia excellent footballer, and 43 times Spanish international Ruben Baraja, named an attacking side to face Vidi. The Spanish side are in top condition with the league still being played. They will play their next league match on Sunday evening.

The Spanish team looked fresher, which was no surprise, as Vidi are in the middle of their pre-season. Ferenc Horvath placed great emphasis on the physical preparation during the Spanish camp. There was 15 minutes on the clock when the first chance arrived. Tischler received the ball on the right, and with his back to goal, turned and aimed for the bottom right corner, but the Elche keeper saved well. Hector Hernandez then tried his luck from 15 meters, but Danilovics was equal to him and denied the former Atletico Madrid player. The game balanced out in the minutes that followed, but there were no real chances at either end. Elche perhaps enjoyed more of the ball, but the teams went in at the break with the score at 0-0.

The second half started with a big chance for Vidi. A good move ended with Kovacs shooting at goal from 14 meters. However, a Spanish defender cleared the ball off the line. Nikolaos Vergos then headed at goal moments later, after a free kick, but Danilovics was again well placed to deal with it.

Kovacs then went on a good solo run on 54 minutes, before passing to Patkai, who from 21 meters, shot just wide of the post. Elche went ahead after 64 minutes when Nono hit a shot into the top right hand corner (0-1). Ferenc Horvath then made several changes to his side following the goal. the final 25 minutes saw the Vidi team line-up as follows: Danilovics -  Nego, Vinicius, Szekeres, Fejes - Heffler - Paudits, Géresi, Kiprich, Haraszti - Soumah. Elche extended their lead on 72 minutes. One of their forwards burst inside the box, and Alex Moreno made no mistake from 5 meters out. Danilovics got a hand to it, but he could not keep it out (0-2).

Vidi could have scored a consolation goal moments later. Soumah missed a great chance when he could only shoot at the keeper. Paudits did the same from the rebound. Elche had another chance in the final minute, but the effort was ruled offside by the official. The final match of the Spanish camp ended 0-2. Vidi will travel home to Hungary on Friday.
