Videoton FC announces their new coaching team ahead of the summer pre-season and the new season ahead. Bernard Casoni will take over as head coach, with Tamas Peto assisting him. Rodolphe Duvernet also joins the club in the role of fitness coach. Imre Biro will be the goalkeeping coach as the final member of the coaching team.

Bernard Casoni was born on the 4th September 1961 in Cannes. He began his playing career at local club AS Cannes where he became a professional footballer. He spent six seasons there before a four year spell with Sporting Toulon. A year at Racing Club followed and then he returned back to Toulon. A big move to Olympique Marseille was next between 1990-1996. His biggest success arrived at this club when they won the European Cup in 1993. Casoni won the French league championship in 1991, 1992 with OM. He appeared in 30 international games for his country and was part of the 1992 European Championship. He has played together with numerous world stars during his career. They include Luis Fernandez, Enzo Francescoli, David Ginola, Jean-Pierre Papin, Pixi Stojkovic, Chris Waddle, Abedi Pelé, Fabien Barthez, Marcel Desailly, Alen Boksic, Rudi Völler, Didier Deschamps who were all his team mates.

His coaching career started at Marseille, where he worked in the youth system. Manager Rolland Courbis left the club and he took over the senior team. He worked at Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel, Cannes, Stade Tunisien and then a period in charge of the Armenian national side. Bastia was next up in a four-year spell between 2005-2009. Evian from 2010-2012 then followed and Auxerre was next in December 2012 until March 2014. He was most recently with French second division side Valenciennes.

"I have already been in Hungary and the city, which really impressed me. I know that Vidi are a major club in Hungary. I am also clear about the results over the last few years. The team won the league title last season, so I can also not have any other aim that to defend our title success next season. We also need to go as far as we can in the Champions League. "I was looking for a coach that has the required experienced and a serious footballing past behind him. A coach that was available and was also recently in work so that he still has the tempo. That he would work with those players and push them forward that wish to not only want to win but can. I was also looking for a footballing culture that was similar to our own. Bernard Casoni is that person. When I first sat down with him to talk, it was quickly clear that we have a similar thinking in football. He is a very resolute person that is focused on results and is a strict coach. He is obsessed with working hard. I feel that we are heading in a good direction with him at Vidi. The aim continues to be to win the domestic league title and Hungarian cup.
