The Mayor of Szekesfehervar paid their own thanks to both sportsmen and women of the town on Monday afternoon. Mayor Andras Cser-Palkovics and Vice Mayor Attila Meszaros chose the sporting favourites for 2014 from various sporting clubs within the city. Vidi's international defender was among those that were recognized for their contribution in sport. Sarolta Kovacs in pentathlon, Katalin Huszti in rubgy, Zoltan Hetenyi in ice hockey and Hunor Szakolczi in sumo were all also present at the event.

 "I would like to say thank you  for the performances that they produced and put on the table over the last year. There were several from our town that were chosen as the sports person of the year in various sports. This also shows that Szekesfehervar plays a determinative role in Hungarian sport. Although we are only half way through the season, football is leading  the way within the city, which we would have loved to have seen for a long time now, which is thanks to such professionals as Roland Juhasz. His excellent mentally that he portrays since the time that he signed for the Fehervar club. I would like to congratulate them all and their respective team and wish them similar success in 2015" - commented Mayor Andras Cser-Palkovics.

"2014 was an unforgettable year, with the first half of the year not turning out the way we would have wanted it to. However, the second half has exceeded all of our expectations. The Hungarian youngsters proved in the autumn that they can be counted on. We need to be able to handle this success, and I am doing my best to make sure that this momentum carries on until the end of the year and we end up winning the championship. We will be playing the majority of our matches away from home over the spring season, but I do not feel that this will represent difficulty. We have done well on our travels so far. We will all meet up again on Thursday, before heading off to Spain on Saturday for the start of our pre-season training camp ahead of the spring season" - commented Roland Juhasz.
