Roland Szolnoki made his first division debut in the summer of 2011, in the Vidi - Paks 4-0 league fixture. He has gone on to make 66 NB1 appearances. His current contract would have ended in December 2015, but the management of the club have decided to extend that period until the 30th June 2017. 

"My agent, Janos Hrutka spoke with me before Christmas, that I would be receiving a special Xmas gift, so I knew already then that I would be extending my contract with Videoton. I am naturally very pleased that Vidi continue to consider me. I have never had any motivational issues, but this has given me an extra boost. I am really looking forward to beginning pre-season next week. It is also important for me that I can feel the trust of the club. I have a lot to thank my team mates for, who have given me plenty of help, in order that I can give better performances out there on the pitch. My main aim is that we can win as many trophies over the coming years. My big dream is to celebrate winning the league title with Vidi. I was quite close to the team back in 2011, but I did not make any appearances for the first team in that season. I am now too old to perform for the U21 national side, so I am now working hard on making it in to the senior side. I am now fully concentrated on Vidi, and that I can be as successful as I can." - commented Roland Szolnoki to the club's website. 

"Although Roland did not start the season in the best form, his strength of will and fanaticism pushed him forward, and he began to get more and more chances, before becoming a regular member of the starting team. His performances improved week from week. These are very important personal factors in terms of the future of the club. We will only be able to achieve results with those types of people who know that the only way that they can remain in the team is if they perform. It is also important that they commit their lives that they can be footballers. I can only say positive things regarding Roland. His example shows that it is worth playing good football as a Hungarian youngster. Videoton FC will always concentrate on the values of the club. I feel that Roland Szolnoki has been given a big chance, which he deserves, and the rest now depends on him" - commented club director Győző Burcsa.
