Videoton have kicked off their pre-season training under the guidance of coach Joan Carrillo Milan, following the departure of Paulo Sousa. An interview was prepared on Thursday evening following dinner at the training base in Spain.

How would you sum up the first day of training?

I am satisfied as the players gave their all, despite us having a very long and tiring journey over here, and also with the fact that some of our baggage was lost on route, but the atmosphere among the boys is good. We will concentrate on the physical side of our game over the first few days of the training camp, but we will also be practicing various tactical attributes as well. 

You are now in charge of the team after Paulo Sousa left the club. This is a big responsibility for you, so we would ask how you feel?

Thank you for the question. I feel really good! I am very happy as I can do what I enjoy doing. It is a big challenge for me to manage a team, but this is my work, or even my life. I am motivated just as the players are, and I long for the success, just as everyone. If the management of the club decide that they would like me to carry on managing in the longer term, I will be ready for the task. However, I will say that I am honestly not focusing on the future at the moment, as there are so many tasks to meet at the present, and this is what we are concentrating on.

An interesting suituation has occured, as club captain Gyorgy Sandor has also left the club. Can you tell us who the new captain will be?

As I have already said, I am not dealing with the future now. I will tell you that there has been not one, but four candidates for the position of captain. Gyorgy Sandor was in first place, while there is also Balazs Toth, Sandor Torghelle and Marco Caneira. This means that the second in line, Balazs Toth, has now moved up to first place. However, once again I will say that we are only focusing on the present, and we will not talk about the future. Balazs Toth will take care of the captains role in the next few days. 

Have you been satisfied with what you have seen so far from the young players?

Yes, I have been satisfied with their performance. Naturally you can feel that they are in new surroundings, even if they have trained with the first team before. I have noticed that they are constantly taking in the advice of the older and more experienced players, and they are trying to learn from them, which is very good to see.
