The Hungarian Football Association (MLSZ) have restructured the league system for the 2013-14 season. This will result in division one club's not being able to have their reserve side in the second division. The second division will be restructured becoming a single league, instead of the current west/east sections. Videoton FC Managing Director Mark Tassy shared his thoughts on this subject.

- The second division competition is important to Videoton FC, which is why it is important to keep the license. However, unfortunately from season 2013-14, teams in the first division will not be able to have their second team play in the second division. Videoton FC decided that we will hand over our playing right this season to Puskas FC, who are an independent club, but have a working relationship with us, and they will start in the second division as a result. The aim is to protect our playing right in the second division, which will mean that we will have to finish in the top eight, as the end of the season will see the end of the current two section system. A top eight finish would guarantee a start in the new second division the following season - 2013-14. That league will include 16 clubs, with the current west/east sections being combined into one. We will do what we can to help the coaching staff's work and the creation of the playing squad, in order that they can achieve a top eight finish.

Puskas FC will be under the management of Miklos Benczes, who will work closely with Paulo Sousa to form the players in the best possible way so that they are ready for the next step up. Already decided is the future of Attila Polonkai, who will be the team captain for Puskas FC, and we hope that they will achieve the set aims. Although we are talking about two separate club's, the coaching work will be coordinated by Videoton FC, but we need to take into consideration when deciding on the squad, the new rules, which will mean that players will only be able to move between squad's each six month's.

It is also important to know that one condition for clubs to get their division one license, is that they will need to have a reserve side, which will play in the third division. This team will compete in the club's colours, and they will be made up of players signed by Videoton FC. This will mean that there can be movement between the first division side and back. The coaching staff for the third division side will be formed this week" - said Mark Tassy.
