Giovanni Trapattoni will manage his Republic of Ireland side in tonight's friendly with Hungary
Giovanni Trapattoni and his Ireland squad arrived on a private chartered flight from Italy on Sunday morning. They had been training close to Pisa before tonight's friendly match at the Ferenc Puskas stadium in Budapest against Hungary.
"Of course I have heard of Videoton and I know their manager Paulo Sousa, who I send my best wishes to. I know that they were champions last season but I have never managed a team against them in European competition. I remember matches against Honved and possibly MTK in the past. I send my best wishes to the supporters and staff at Videoton. I also know that it was a Videoton player who scored the winning goal in Prague on Friday" - said Giovanni Trapattoni.
Giant former Manchester United defender John O'Shea is another Irishman who is familiar with Vidi. He is good friends with Bojan Djordjic, who had a short period at Videoton last season. "I know Videoton mainly because of my friend Bojan. We came through the youth ranks together at Manchester United and he told me a lot about Videoton and his time in Hungary. He is now working for Swedish TV toghether with Henrik Laarson, and they will be commentators for Swedish TV in the European Championships. I know that he joined the club at the start of their championship winning season" - said John O'Shea.

The midfielder has committed his future to the red and blues.

A final day slip up could not spoil a very good season for Vidi.

Videoton FC will play their final game of a long season on Saturday evening at the Sostoi.

Vidi keeper Tomas Tujvel has saved two consecutive penalty kicks in recent games.
