A Videoton first division side have never picked up so many points in one season
It is interesting to note that last season's championship winning side did not pick up as many league points as Vidi did this season. In fact last year's performance in terms of points meant a third place overall finish in points collected. The 2006 Vidi side emerged second in the list. That team won 19 games and drew a further 7, suffering just 4 defeats. That gave them a points haul of 64 over that season, helping the side to third in that season's final league table. (Debrecen ended up champions that season with 68 points, ahead of Ujpest who picked up 65 points.)
Last season's title winning side collected 61 points on the way to their success. The 1980-81 season saw that Vidi side win 19 of their 34 league games, drawing a further 6 and losing 9 games. However, that was under the old 2 points for a win system. That produced 44 points and a fourth place finish in the league that year.
Paulo Sousa's first year at the club has created a new club record for the amount of points picked up.

Vidi keeper Tomas Tujvel has saved two consecutive penalty kicks in recent games.

The forward recently joined the club on a short term deal, which has now been extended.
