National side make it five wins in a row

Hungary beat Azerbaijan 2-0 in a friendly in Dubai

Goals from Gergely Rudolf (37), Tamas Hajnal (81) were enough to see off Azerbaijan in this international friendly. The match was played in Dubai, in front of no more than 1,000. National team boss Sandor Egervari included Vidi duo Pal Lazar and Akos Elek, who both had good games. Lazar played in his normal position of right back, while Elek was his usual busy self in the heart of midfield. They both showed that they have a place in the Hungarian national side. Akos Elek is slowly but surely becoming a key member of Egervari's side, adding plenty of energy and aggression in midfield. The Hungarian side now face Holland twice in the space of a week, at the end of March, in the European Championship qualifiers. Vidi defender Zoltan Liptak was forced to miss the friendly, after feeling unwell on Saturday afternoon. He remained behind with the rest of the Vidi squad, at their Spanish training camp. However, he would have featured from the start of Wednesday's friendly, had he been able to travel as well. Hungary have now won five international games in a row, which began with a win over Moldova, San Marino, Lithuania, Finland and now Azerbaijan.
