Gyereksarok924Pápán született és a Textilesnél nevelkedett az apró termetű támadó, Szalmásy Tamás. A főként a sebességével és technikásságával kitűnő szélső 18 évesen a BEAC-nál játszott, majd az Állatorvostudományi SE-nél is megfordult, mielőtt a pápai katonacsapathoz, az Ezüst Nyílhoz került volna.
Sorkatonai szolgálata után, 1970-ben igazolt Fehérvárra, ahol a következő években összesen 164-szer lépett pályára az élvonalban és kereken 50 gólt szerzett (a 10-et egyszer sem lépte át). 1975-76-ban tagja volt az aranyéremtől megfosztott Vidinek, 1974-ben és 1976-ban is pályára lépett az összes UEFA Kupa-találkozón.
1979-es visszavonulása után egyből technikai vezető lett klubunknál, 1981-ben pedig ügyvezető elnökké lépett elő, amely pozíciót 1987-ig töltötte be. Ekkor ugyanis szakosztályvezető lett, 1991-ben pedig az utánpótlás élére nevezték ki. Mindeközben az MLSZ-nél is előlépett, előbb az NB I-es liga elnökhelyettese, majd MLSZ elnökségi tag lett.
Mélyen érintette, hogy véget ért vidis sportvezetői karrierje. Pápán született és a Textilesnél nevelkedett az apró termetű támadó, Szalmásy Tamás. A főként a sebességével és technikásságával kitűnő szélső 18 évesen a BEAC-nál játszott, majd az Állatorvostudományi SE-nél is megfordult, mielőtt a pápai katonacsapathoz, az Ezüst Nyílhoz került volna.
Sorkatonai szolgálata után, 1970-ben igazolt Fehérvárra, ahol a következő években összesen 164-szer lépett pályára az élvonalban és kereken 50 gólt szerzett (a 10-et egyszer sem lépte át). 1975-76-ban tagja volt az aranyéremtől megfosztott Vidinek, 1974-ben és 1976-ban is pályára lépett az összes UEFA Kupa-találkozón.
1979-es visszavonulása után egyből technikai vezető lett klubunknál, 1981-ben pedig ügyvezető elnökké lépett elő, amely pozíciót 1987-ig töltötte be. Ekkor ugyanis szakosztályvezető lett, 1991-ben pedig az utánpótlás élére nevezték ki. Mindeközben az MLSZ-nél is előlépett, előbb az NB I-es liga elnökhelyettese, majd MLSZ elnökségi tag lett.
Mélyen érintette, hogy véget ért vidis sportvezetői karrierje. A 2000-es években Keszthelyre költözött, utoljára 2008-ban, Zalaegerszegen nézhette személyesen szeretett csapatát játszani, ugyanis klubunk óriási fájdalmára július 4-én elhunyt.
