András Elbert is the new goalkeeping coach of MOL Fehérvár FC

Having previously spent 12 years in Kuwait, he has been the goalkeeping coach of MTK for the past three seasons.

András Elbert was born on the 28th August 1972 in Budapest. His greatest success as a player came at Kispest, where he was a member of the 1993 championship-winning Honvéd team. He later played for several NB II teams and started coaching at the relatively young age of 28. He also worked as a coach and goalkeeper coach at Goldball. From 2006 he spent 12 years in Kuwait, first working with children and later with adult goalkeepers. He has also worked as a goalkeeper coach for the Kuwaiti national futsal team, in addition to club teams in Kuwait. Three of his goalkeepers have been selected for the adult national team and three others have been selected as Olympic goalkeepers in Kuwait. With his foreign teams, he has won several cup finals, including the Crown Prince and League Cup. He regularly attends the biggest goalkeeping conference in Europe, most recently in Porto a few weeks ago with several of his Hungarian colleagues.

"I worked together with Michael Boris for two years at MTK. It was a very positive time in my life and I'm happy to work with him again. I never talk about how many places I would be happy with, I believe that the work you put in has to show on the pitch and if it does, it will reflect in the result. I have worked in the NB I for two years, so I know the Vidi goalkeepers well, but of course we will get to know each other fully when we work together. I worked in Kuwait for 12 years, before that I started coaching in Hungary at Goldball. I was a goalkeeper and a coach at the beginning, so I have a better insight into the coaching profession, but of course I always wanted to be a goalkeeper. I believe that goalkeepers should also be constantly educating themselves, which is why I regularly attend various goalkeeping conferences where I can learn from goalkeepers from the biggest clubs in Europe. I am looking forward to this new challenges here at Vidi" - the new goalkeeping coach told our website.
