According to the agreement between the 46-year-old German coach and our club, Michael Boris will be the head coach of the first team of MOL Fehérvár FC from Wednesday!

Michael Boris was born on the 3rd June 1975 in Bottrop-Kirchhellen, Germany. As a player he played for lower league German teams, Wattenscheid II, Hessen Kassel, Speldorf and Kickers Emden.

He began his coaching career at the age of 29, spending three seasons as assistant coach at Kickers Emden between 2004 and 2007, before taking up the head coach position at fourth division VfB Homberg. He then went on to manage Germania Dattenfeld, Schalke U23, Sportfeunde Siegen, Sportfreunde Lotte and KFC Uerdingen 05 before arriving in Hungary in the summer of 2016, where he became national team coach of the U19 national team and later took charge of the U21 national team. After two and a half years, he left the MLSZ to work as a head coach for Tokyo Verdy, one of the most successful clubs in Japan, before returning to Hungary as head coach of MTK Budapest in the summer of 2019. In his first season, he led them to promotion to the NB I as league champions with the blue and whites, and in the 2020/2021 season he finished seventh in the top flight with the Budapest club. In the autumn of 2021, he worked as head coach of Danish top-flight side SönderjyskE, leaving Denmark in November last year.

I have followed the Hungarian league in the past and I have seen Újpest's previous games, now the most important thing is to create unity and find the key to beat Újpest before Sunday's game. We have players with great qualities in the squad, we need to show that on the pitch, but I am confident that this squad is capable of achieving success. - said our new head coach Michael Boris before the team's training session on Wednesday.

“Michael Boris has a long history with the Hungarian youth national team, winning the second division title with MTK and making a name for himself in Hungary by playing intense, dynamic football in the NB I, which saw him finish seventh. I think what we need now is a coach who knows the league and the teams so he can react quickly, and we see that in Michael. Michael Boris' contract runs until the end of the 2021/2022 season, with an option to extend it.

Michael Boris will be assisted by Sándor Preisinger as assistant coach. As a player, the 48-year-old coach won the 1994 NB II and 1995 NB I top scorer award for his hometown side Zalaegerszeg, helping his team to promotion and seventh place in the top flight. After that he moved to MTK, before playing in Belgium, Sopron, Szombathelyi Haladás and Nyíregyháza, and the former striker has played in five matches for the Hungarian senior national team. Preisinger, who also holds a degree in mathematics and physical education, started his adult coaching career with ZTE's then NB II team. He worked for four years at the MLSZ between 2016 and 2020 as the national team coach of the U15, later U16 and U17 national teams, the latter of which he also managed at the 2019 U17 European Championship in Ireland. In the 2020/2021 season he worked as head coach of NB II Békéscsaba.
