UEFA has already announced that, alongside the Champions League and the Europa League, it will launch a new competition series in the summer of 2021 called the European Conference League (ECL).

The best and most important news for our supporters is that, unlike last season, from this summer UEFA will no longer require matches to be played behind closed doors, but fans will be allowed in according to the regulations of the host country! As the current Hungarian legislation does not limit the number of spectators, we can even organise matches in front of a full house at the MOL Arena Sosto!

About the competition

In Hungary, the 2nd and 3rd place finishing sides of the OTP Bank League and the winners of the MOL Hungarian Cup will qualify. As third place, we will join the competition in the 1st qualifying round this season. In order to qualify for the 32-team main draw, we will have to successfully go through 4 qualification rounds, each round will be over two-legs again, with the main game day being Thursday.

The final

The first Uefa conference league final will take place on 25 May 2022 at the National Arena in Tirana.

Seeded

Vidi will start the new tournament series with a coefficient of 11.5, so we will be seeded in the draws for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds, meaning that we will be matched with an opponent with a lower coefficient.
