We announced our third summer signing on Friday with the arrival of Brazilian forward Evandro. We spoke to him about his career so far and his plans in Fehervar.

Welcome to Vidi....What are your first impressions of the club?

Evandro: Thank you very much. The first impressions of the club is that everything is perfect. Everyone has been so helpful to me and everything that I have seen so far has been beautiful. The people at this club have offered me all the help I need so I am happy to be here. The stadium is so modern and I also saw the gym so I can say that I am so happy with everything that I have seen. Overall I am delighted that I can be here.

You started your career in Brazil and then moved to Bulgaria. What was the change like moving from South America to Europe?

Evandro: Yes, for me it was a „brave thing” to do and also dangerous as I could not speak any English in my first year when I moved to Sofia. It was all about learning and an experience and my first year also resulted in me not always playing. I would play one game and then not the next so I had to learn quickly about the new life outside of Brazil and I was also still young. But the experience that I picked up has helped me a lot for this moment and now I feel completely ready and I am happy. 

Your still young. What are your ambitions in football?

I am still developing all the time but I also need to still improve as a player. My main ambitions are to score even more goals and to also provide assists in games. I want to help the team as much as I can. I feel I have more confidence now and I am looking forward to playing with my new teammates. I really have come here to win things and I am ready to start with all the excitement within me for the challenges ahead. I always tell myself that I can score even more goals than I have so far in my career. This is important part of my game and I know that there is still so much more inside of me. I hope as I gain more experience I can improve my overall game, which will benefit Vidi.

Do you plan to live here in Szekesfehervar?

Yes, that is my plan as the little time I have spent so far in this city has given me the chance to look around a little. I am impressed by what I have seen in this beautiful city so I think it will be good to live here. But the main focus for me is to help the team all I can and to win things together.

What’s your message for the supporters?

Not too much at the moment. I want to do my best and show them what I can do and hopefully this way I can give them the best message possible through my game. I hope that they will accept me quickly and that I can make them happy with my contribution in games. As I have said, I am ready for this exciting challenge in my career and I have come here to improve and get better. If that happens, it will be great for the club and myself.
