The Hungarian FA leadership have decided on changes ahead of the 2020-2021 season. 

Most important changes

- The MLSZ (Hungarian FA) have announced 25 man squad's from next season in the OTP Bank League. They have brought this in with the view of reducing the number of players that have limited match time. The 25 man squad can only be increased in size by U19 players. This will help with regards to the spirit of past strategic aspirations, domestic and young players will be increasingly encouraged. 

The Hungarian Cup will also see changes from next season. All ties will be decided by one game. The lower league side will always be drawn at home in cup games. There will not be any cup replays: games that end in a draw will be decided by extra time and a penalty shoot-out. 

Professional clubs will enter the cup in Round 6 (September 19) among the 128 clubs. Seeded clubs cannot play against each other. The final will be played at the new Puskas Arena on the 19th May 2021. The new 2020-2021 season will consist of 12 first division clubs and will begin on the 1st August. The first half of the new season will finish after match 16 on the 12th December 2021.
