The squad will be travelling out to Spain on the 4th January. They will stay in Marbella until the 18th January and play four friendly games during that time. 

The first of those will take place on the 10th January against Swiss second division side FC Winterthur. Just like Vidi, they have won the Swiss championship three times in their history. However, the last of those was 112 years ago when they celebrated in 1917. They have not been in the first division since 1978. Their squad is valued at 7,2 million euros according to transfermarkt.de with Kosovan international Gjelbrim Taipi also at their club.

The 13th January will see the second friendly and a game against Swiss club FC Sion. Hungarian international Vilmos Vanczak played around 300 matches for them. They have been members of the Swiss Super League since 2006. They even managed to survive in one season despite starting with -36 points. They ended on minus 9 but financial problems at Neuchatel meant they received a reprieve. They were involved in European competition from 2010 and they went past Celtic in 2011. There were further games against Suduva in 2017 and progression into the final 32 in 2015 when they met both Bordeaux and Liverpool. They would go out after a tight defeat to Braga.

Next up on the 15th January is a game against VFL Bochum. The former West German side were regular members of the Bundesliga. They would eventually be relegated to the second division. Their squad is valued at 18,7 million euros according to transfermarkt.de with Congo international Silvere Ganvoula valued the highest at 2.5 million euros. 

The final game of the training camp will be against VfB Stuttgart on the 18th January. The five times German champions last lifted the domestic trophy in 2007. However, they were relegated to the second division but still have a high 68,1 million euro squad. Belgium youth international Orel Mangala is valued at 12 million euros. Stuttgart currently sit in third place in the second division and include Mario Gomez in their squad.
