The Hungarian U19 squad were unbeaten in the autumn as they won the EC qualifying group. They will now face Croatia in March in the Elite round, which including the hosts has Norway and the Germans as opponents. Antal Nemeth's side most recently beat the Italian team in a friendly in November. The end of November saw another Elite round match, which finished 2-2 against Cyprus. MOL Vidi II footballer Mario Zeke played in that game and the youngster has been called up again and will report to Telki between the 10-13th March for a training camp.
The manager will then choose his final squad at the end of the training camp and the U19 side will travel out to Croatian to take part between the 17-27th March. Germany, Norway and Croatia with Hungary make up the group. Only the winners of the group will qualify for the European Championships in Armenia, which begin on the 14th July.
Attila Mocsi, who last year wore the captains armband for the U19 national team will miss out through injury and will not travel to Croatia. Mario Zeke has a good chance of being part of the final squad.
