Marko Nikolic: This is the first step in a series of games

The two managers shared their thoughts after Saturday's OTP league game in Szombathely.

Marko Nikolic:

"We directed things throughout the game and played the way we had planned to. This was with the exception of the last 3-4 minutes of the first half and the final 5 minutes of the game. As I said before the game, we needed to be disciplined and focused throughout the game and we managed to almost do this for the entire match. We still need to improve in the final third of our game but things became easier after our first goal. Marko Scepovic scored what for him was a very important goal. I hope that very soon Armin Hodzic will also score his first goal in a Vidi shirt and that Istvan Kovacs also finds the back of the net. We played in a good footballing atmosphere and I would like to congratulate the players for the win. Let us not forget that this is just the first step in a series of game. We will fly to Greece on Wednesday and then journey by bus for 4-5 hours on Saturday to Kisvarda. This is why I always support and defend my players as it is hard to continuously play at this tempo and to perform well. As I have said previously, once we are up and then we are down, but we are working to make sure that we are more often up."

The press conference also included a question about the two chances that Haladas missed as whether this worried the manager.

"I was not worried because I saw tactically good things from my team and these interest me more than the errors. Vini slipped in the first half and then there was a slight bad reaction but this is part of football. Naturally it would be ideal if these situations did not come up too often, but I would be more worried if I would see my team perform badly."

Ferenc Horváth :

"The game would have ended differently had we converted the two big chances when the score was at 0-0. It was very important as to who would score the first goal. If we could have done that, our game would have gone better as we had planned. The first goal affected the team and it was understandable as the team had been fine until that goal. The final 10 minutes were ours as we pushed Vidi back, which is a big thing. We have nothing to be ashamed about and we did what we could to move forward. I hope that the result will come in our next game. I can see that we are stepping forward compared to our first two matches. This was a much more focused and physical Haladas side that gave us a chance to beat one of the best sides in Hungary."
