Vasas and Videoton FC have agreed on Zsombor Berecz continuing his playing career in Szekesfehervar. 

He was born in 1995 and came through the youth system in Misolc with DVTK until 2007/08. It was then that he moved to Budapest and signed for Vasas. Berecz would then make his way through the various youth sides at that club before representing his country at the youth level. He was a member of the 2015 U20 side that made it through the group at the World Cup. 

His debut for the Vasas first team came in April 2013 in the semi final of the Hungarian Cup. He would become a regular member of the team in the NB II division in both the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons. Eventually he made his first division debut for Vasas in July 2015 and went on to make 29 appearances as his form was good throughout. 

The 2016-17 season included 32 NB I appearances and 6 goals. Vasas would end that season in third place and make it through to the Hungarian Cup final, but they lost on a penalty shootout. His good performances earned him a call up to the international squad. He made his debut in the match with Sweden, in what was the last game for Roland Juhasz in a Hungarian shirt. Berecz played 23 times in the season just ended and in total played for Vasas in 84 NB I matches. He has now joined Videoton FC.

"I had some teams approach me but it was Vidi that was the most sympathetic. We are talking about the league champions and soon we will be battling in the Champions League qualifiers. I will belong to the younger members of the squad but I have signed here to develop and increase the chances for the national team. This is a new environment for me and I would like to measure myself and I feel that I will be able to pick up the tempo quickly" - commented Zsombor Berecz.

Zsombor will have everything in place here at Vidi to develop further. We know that there was a big race to sign him in Hungary and also from clubs abroad. We felt that it was at this club that he wanted to continue and this is a good challenge for him. I am sure that he will prove to be a strengthening for Vidi very soon. There is plenty of competition in his position but this is a positive for the club. It is good for everyone if there is real competition even in training" - commented Zoltan Kovacs, director of football. 

Zsombor Berecz has signed a long term contract with Videoton FC.
