Attila Fiola and Mate Patkai play in the March international friendlies

Hungary played friendly matches against Kazakhstan and Scotland.

Hungary had two home friendly matches on the 23rd and 27th March. The first was against Kazakhstan on Friday, before another game at the Groupama Arena against Scotland. Attila Fiola, Mate Patkai and Adam Kovacsik were called up for the games. 

Hungary - Kazahsztan

The first game saw Hungary line up as follows: Gulácsi - Bese, Otigba, Fiola, Botka - Dzsudzsák, Kleinheisler, Elek, Ugrai - Nikolics, Szalai. The visitors raced into an early two goal lead inside the first 10 minutes with goals from Murtazaev and Zainutdinov. Szalai pulled a goal back on 21 minutes but Kazakhstan extended their two goal advantage through Seidakhmet. The second half saw Patkai come on as a substitute as Hungary scored a second goal, but the final result was 2-3.

Hungary - Scotland

Scotland were the visitors on Tuesday evening with manager Georges Leekens fielding the following eleven: Gulácsi - Lovrencsics, Fiola, Otigba, Guzmics, Hangya - Varga R., Kleinheisler, Pintér Á., Dzsudzsák - Szalai.

The first half was a tight affair with the visitors being awarded a 40th minute penalty. However, keeper Gulacsi saved the spot kick to make the half time score 0-0. Second half subs included Pátkai who was given the chance to impress the new international manager. Although it was Scotland who ended up winning 1-0 through a Phillips goal after 48 minutes. 

Vidi players Attila Fiola won his 6th and 7th international cap, while Mate Patkai represented his country in his 7th and 8th match.
