The first Spanish training camp comes to an end

The Videoton squad have been out in Spain for the last couple of weeks preparing for the spring season ahead.

The squad jetted out to Benidorm for the first training camp on the 16th January. That ended today with four friendly matches being played for Marko Nikolic' side. Chinese first division team Renhe FC were the first opponents and that ended in a 1-1 draw. Istvan Kovacs scored Vidi's goal in that game. Joan Carrillo's Wisla Krakow were next up and the Polish side emerged 1-0 winners with a goal from former Vidi midfielder Nikola Mitrovic. The third friendly was against Romanian side CFR Cluj, which ended in a 3-0 defeat. There was a final 2-0 friendly win over German outfit Wuppertaler. The goals coming from Kovacs and Stopira.

The fourth day of the training camp saw new signing Boban Nikolov link up with his new team. He commented that he had joined the club to help them win the league title.

The team bus rolled out of the hotel on Tuesday morning on route to Valencia. The first leg of the flight took off at 13:00pm on route to Frankfurt. A later flight to Budapest will eventually see the squad return to Szekesfehervar at around 20:00pm. There will now be a three day rest before the players and coaching staff head back to Spain on Saturday. That will last until the 13th February near Marbella. The plans are for another four pre-season friendlies.
