Match 7 of the OTP league season saw Vidi take on Ferencvaros in the final game of the weekend at the Pancho Arena. The green and whites went into the game yet to be defeated, although they had drawn 4 of their opening 6 games. Vidi were looking to get back on their feet quickly after going out of the Europa League in midweek. They also knew that a win and 3 points would take the red and blues to the top of the OTP league table with a game in hand of the others.

The first chance came to Danko Lazovic after 9 minutes but he could not find the back of the net. The home supporters were on their feet 3 minutes later celebrating the opening goal: Lazovic lifted the ball in from the wing and found Scepovic, who laid the ball back into the path of Patkai and the midfielder scored a lovely goal to find the bottom left corner (1-0).

Visiting player Moutari found the side netting after 16 minutes. With 24 minutes played, first Stopira and then Suljic beat his man before sending in a low cross into the middle, but the ball brushed in front of Nego. Lazovic tried again but the ball was cleared before Varga sent a ball in to the middle, which Stopira headed over. The ball fell to Varga following a 32nd minute corner and his powerful shot hit the woodwork. Lazovic shot just over the bar after 37 minutes as the action continued. At the other end, first Rui Pedro and then Priskin had shots that were saved and also came back of the crossbar. The teams went in at the break with Videoton leading 1-0.

The big storm arrived from the west as the second half kicked off. That resulted in the game being played in heavy rain but that did not stop Vidi from doubling their lead: Suljic crossed from the left and Scepovic rose to head into the back of the net from close range to make it 2-0.

A 52nd minute pass from Nego found Scepovic, who saw his 23 meter shot saved by keeper Dibusz. Moutari had two chances in a short space of time for the visitors, but neither resulted in a consolation goal. The referee took the teams off on 61 minutes for 10 minutes as the storm above gathered strength. The game started some 15 minutes later but nobody could forecast that the sides would remain on the pitch for only 10 minutes. A good ball from Lazovic released Nego, but the FTC keeper denied him with a smart save. Dibusz again did well to stop a Scepovic shot after Nego played him through in what was another big chance. The visiting keeper punched away a Suljic shot as the pressure from the home side continued. The 72nd minute resulted in a big bolt of lightning around the stadium, and the teams were forced off as darkness descended over the pretty arena. There would be a 50 minute period of waiting for the teams and supporters before the game could fortunately continue.

Bode saw his effort following a corner saved by Kovacsik. Szolnoki then sent his 76th minute shot wide of the post and Stopira headed into the arms of Dibusz. The game was made safe 3 minutes later when Stopira broke into the box and sent a powerful shot into the bottom of the net. It was a shot that gave the keeper no chance and was a fitting goal to earn the three points and make it 3-0.

Priskin scored a consolation goal near the end for Fradi but it had no effect on the game. Istvan Kovacs came on close to the end after a period out through injury. Vidi again beat their rivals on the back of the spring 4-1 success to go top of the table. They have now remained unbeaten against the Budapest side since December 2015. Vidi are next in action on the 6th September when they travel to Paks.
