Suljic and Vinicius will become Hungarian citizens on Friday

The defender and winger will take their oaths in Szekesfehervar. Paulo Vinicius has already been called up to the national squad.

Asmir Suljic and Paulo Vinícius will take their oaths to become Hungarian citizens on Friday morning in Szekesfehervar. The two players will as a result become available to play for Hungary should the chance occur. Vinicius moved even closer to this after Hungarian international manager Bernd Storck named his squad, which will face Portugal on the 25th March.

"This will be a big change in my life that I have become a Hungarian citizen. This means much more to me than the fact that I now have a European passport. I have been living in Hungary for more than 5 years now and I consider the country to be my home. The biggest events in my life are connected to Hungary. I got to know my wife here and my two children were born and raised here. Hungary is a friendly, good natured, safe and inviting country, which has become my home. Although I have not yet sat down and thought about what I will do after my playing career, one thing certain is that I want to live in Hungary in the future. Naturally this is a new challenge for me and the chance to get into the national side. I will continuously have to perform well for this as there are very good players in the national team. I would like to thank Vidi, the supporters and all those that have helped me over the years.” - said Paulo Vinícius.

"When I signed for Videoton, this possibility arose back then that I could become a Hungarian citizen. This has now become a reality and I am very happy. This has opened up a door for me, which also means that I can play for the Hungarian national team. Naturally I understand that a Hungarian passport is not enough to make my debut for the national side. I need to perform well, week after week for Vidi so that Bernd Storck can take notice of me. I would like to thank Hungary, Ujpest and also Vidi and I would like to repay the faith shown in me.”" - commented Asmir Suljic.

The Hungarian national squad was released on Thursday and it also included Adam Kovacsik and Attila Fiola from Videoton.

The following squad will meet up at Telki on Sunday:

Keepers: Dibusz Dénes (Ferencváros), Kovácsik Ádám (Videoton FC)

Outfield: Botka Endre (Ferencváros), Eppel Márton (Budapest Honvéd), Fiola Attila (Videoton FC), Gera Zoltán (Ferencváros), Holman Dávid (DVSC), Kálnoki-Kis Dávid (Újpest FC), Kleinheisler László (Ferencváros), Lovrencsics Gergő (Ferencváros), Németh Krisztián (Al-Garafa), Paulo Vinícius (Videoton FC)
