Filipe Oliveira:
"It was a very special day for Portugal on Sunday. We have been waiting a long tme for this success, as we have already played in some big finals, but have never been able to win. The Portuguese national teams  have had some great players, and it was the current generation that have lifted the trophy. Everyone in Portugal is very proud of the national team. I can honestly say that I did not believe that we would win the tournament before it started. Fernando Santos made a promise before the competition that they would only be flying back home from France after the 11th July. The national team manager believed in his players, and managed to really motivate them. It was a big set back for the team when Cristiano Ronaldo suffered an injury, as he is not only the team captain, but also the best player in the World. Many said before the match that it would be Ronaldo who would win the European Championships for Portugal. It turned out to be the team that battled to win for Ronaldo. His presence was very important at the same time, and the TV showed this many times just how active he was on the touchline. He is a genius. All of the players performed really well, and I am thinking about the likes of Nani and Quaresma, who defended inside their own box. Eder came on to score a wonderful goal. Rui Patricio produced wonderful saves. I remember 4 years ago as a Vidi player, in or home Europa League group match against Sporting, when I also scored against him. Then only one of us could be happy after the final whistle, but both of us were delighted after the final on Sunday.. (laughter). July 10th will become a historic day for Portuguese football. The supporters can also be proud of the Hungarian team, as they really did perform well at the finals. It is important to highlight that several of the national team players play their football in the NB1. This shows the constant improvement and that the domestic league is getting stronger. It is also very pleasing for me that the best game at the finals was between Portugal and Hungary."

Loic Nego:
"Naturally the whole of France is disappointed as we all prepared to celebrate winning the European Championships. The commentators and supporters felt that after the France - Germany semi-final, it would be one of those two that would go on to win. We created many chances over the 90 minutes, but Rui Patricio performed well in goal. We even hit the post in the final minute. I do not know if it would have been a different result had Cristiano Ronaldo not become injured at the start of the match. My opinion is that it was a very good tournament for France. We played well throughout. I am sure that everyone will feel disappointment for a few weeks, but this will go away in time. We showed again that France are a team to be taken seriously. The World Cup qualifiers start in the autumn, and the finals will be in two years time. I feel that we will get stronger during this period. The player of the tournament was Griezmann, and I am not saying this because we are very good friends, and we played together for several years for the French youth sides, but because he scored good goals and played dangerously throughout. He had a very good header in the final. I feel sorry for him as he has now played in two finals, inside a couple of months, and has ended on the losing side. However, the 6 goals he has scored in the final tells everything. I am sure that he will have an even better tournament in the future, like the French side."
