Ferenc Horvath signed a 7 month contract back in October 2015 and now leaves the position of Head Coach of Videoton FC with his contract having expired. The 42 year old former international forward made his debut on the Vidi bench in the away Hungarian cup tie against Andrashida. His first game in charge of a league match came in the home win against Honved.

Videoton were then in 7th place in the league table and Saturday's away win at Ujpest secured second place. That meant Vidi can prepare for the Europa League qualifiers in the summer.

Videoton FC wishes to thank Ferenc Horvath for this and the fact that he agreed to take over during a difficult period, including the responsibilities that came with the position. Thanks are also in order for the way he worked with his coaching staff to achieve a runner's up place for the club. 

"I would like to thank everybody who helped the club and the team to success over recent months. I am pleased that we managed to get second place. I would also like to thank the supporters who stood by us until the end of the season. It is hard to find a manager for seven months in today's world, but I felt that it was the least I owed to Vidi. That is why I never considered not taking the role. We managed to get to second place during my time, so perhaps I can say that we are quits" - commented Ferenc Horvath to the club website on Monday afternoon.

Ferenc Horvath will be leaving the coaching staff together with his assistant Tamas Szamosi and goalkeeping coach Imre Biro. The club wishes to thank all three for the work they carried out and wish them every success in the career.
