There were more than 15,000 inside the Groupama Arena for the 2015 Hungarian cup final. The current two best sides in Hungary came face-to-face.
FTC were playing on their own pitch and started the game the more active. However, they did not really create any serious chances. Gyurcso found himself with a chance after 11 minutes following a quick throw in. Keeper Dibusz tipped the ball out for a corner. The defenders then cleared the resulting corner, but the ball fell to Oliveira who shot at goal, but the ball again deflected off a defender and another corner followed. A good Fehervar attack 5 minutes later saw Nikolics with a very big chance, but his shot came off a Ferencvaros defender and the danger escaped in front of Dibusz in the home goal. Another 5 minutes later it was Gyurcso who ran on goal, but just like in the autumn league match, Dibusz emerged the winner in the dual between the two. Kovacs did well to release Nikolics on 28 minutes, but the forward could not run on goal, and his cross evaded all in the box. The last 10 minutes of the first half saw the tempo relax and there were no further real chances on either goal.
There was hardly a minute on the clock at the start of the second half when a Gyurcso cross was punched clear by Dibusz, ahead of the pouncing Nikolics. The ball fell to Oliveira who hit a shot from 15 meters, but again a defender's foot was in the way and the ball went out for a corner. Ferencvaros took the lead in the 54th minute. Raminez curled a ball in from the left and it went over Bode in the middle, but Varga at the far post headed in from close range to make it 0-1. The goal came at the same time that a big storm hit the capital. The heavy rain and thunder did not danger the game itself, and referee Ivanyi allowed the cup final to continue. Ferencvaros took a quick corner 6 minute later, which saw Varga curl a ball in front of goal, which was converted by Bata, who slid in to score from close range (0-2).
A long range free kick from Gyurcso after 68 minutes was confidently saved by Dibusz. A throw in a minute later by Raminez found itself at the feet of Bode. The forward hit a high ball to Roland Lamah, who was left unmarked to head home (0-3). Joan Carrillo sent on more attacking options, but it was Ferencvaros that managed to increase their lead further. Varga raced down the right wing before crossing the ball in to the middle. The ball deflected off Szolnoki and past his own keeper to make it 0-4.
There was no further change to the score and Vidi, who were playing in their 5th cup final, suffered their 4th defeat. FTC lifted the cup for the 21st time at the Groupama Arena. The two sides meet again at the same stadium in under two weeks time in the final match of the league season.

The forward felt that Vidi had no luck with their chances, while they could not react suitably to the goals that Fradi scored.

The Vidi captain shared his thoughts after the final whistle.

The two managers spoke to the media after the final whistle.

The team was in a good mood as they prepared for the cup final. Adam Simon revealed at the end of training that he has good memories of the Groupama Arena.
