Videoton won their first ever league title five years ago with a points tally of 61. That proved enough to make sure of the league championship. Vidi have twice before managed to collect more than 61 points in a league campaign in their history. The first was in 2006 in a season that saw the team lift the Hungarian cup, while finishing in third place in the domestic league. That season saw them pick up 64 points. The second time the red and blues have picked up more than 61 points came in 2012 under the management of Paulo Sousa. The 64 points that season secured a record points tally and a place behind Debrecen, who ended the campaign with 74 points.  No other team has matched that amount of points under the system of 16 sides in the first division and 3 points for a win.

The current 2014/15 season sees the team on 61 points with 6 matches left to play. That is 5 short of matching the previous club record and 13 points from creating a new record for the first division. There are 18 points left to play in the remaining matches....

Vidi won their first league title on the 11th May 2011, in a match against Kaposvar. Below are a few memorable moments from that game and the celebrations.

Vidi have collected the same amount of points as they have now on one other occasion. That was in the 1975-76 season and had the 3 points for a win system been in operation, they would have picked up more than 61 points. They won 18 and lost 1 game, while drawing the other 8 games. That meant 44 points for Vidi, which with 3 points for a win would have represented 62 points.
