Kees Luiyckx was born in Castricum, Holland on the 11th February 1986. He became a professional football at AZ Alkmaar, and has since gone on to play for Excelsior, ADO Den Haag, NAC Breda and Roda. He also had a spell with Greek side Niki Volos. His longest period at a club was three seasons when he played for Breda. Kees has made 198 appearances in the Dutch first division, scoring 17 goals. He has represented the Dutch U21 side 20 times, with 2 further games for the Dutch B side. He was also a member of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. 

Kees Luiyckx has signed a two and a half year contract with Videoton.

„I am very pleased that I have managed to agree terms with Videoton FC. A major aspect in my decision to come here was that the team are playing to win the league title. Every player enjoys playing for a side that wins many games. Another impressive aspect was that the management of the club travelled out to England to convince me that it would be worth joining. Naturally I did a bit of research myself in the background. I called my one time team mate at NAC Breda, Gabor Horvath, who told me many positive things about the club and Hungary. In the end it was an easy decision to make. I could have stayed in Holland with Breda for example where I had done pre-season, but I wanted to carry on playing my football abroad following my recent spell in Greece. My wife and young son are both looking forward to moving to Hungary. I would not have taken on this adventure without their backing. It is also an important factor that the team is preparing to play in European competition. I had a taste of Champions League football at the beginning of my playing career, but I have also experience since then just how hard it is to actually qualify to compete. I hope that I can also play my part in helping Videoton FC achieve its success. It is not a problem that I have arrived here at the end of the transfer window as I have done a full pre-season training in Breda. I am in a good condition, and have also played in friendly games. I now want to get to know my team mates and get used to the new surroundings." - commented Kees Luiyckx after he signing his contract. 

"We have managed to sign a player that totally fits in to our criteria, with around 200 appearances in the Dutch top division. We are talking about a stable first division player here who also took part in the Beijing games in 2008. He has very good physical attributes, and has not suffered any serious injuries during his playing career. He is a central defender but can also play as a defensive midfielder. We have signed Kees Luiyckx in preparation for the European competition. I hope that he will help us a lot to achieve our aims" - commented club director Győző Burcsa.
