The international midfielder already had two and a half years of his present deal to run, but has signed for a further period.
Istvan Kovacs joined Videoton FC two years ago on the 18th January 2012. The footballer arrived from Szombathely Haladas on a four and a half year deal. The youngster was not even half way through his current contract, when the club offered the talented player an extension, which was signed today.
Kovacs has already played in 52 league matches in the colours of Vidi, scoring 5 goals in the first division. He is a regular in the U21 international team, and has already made his full senior debut for Hungary.
"I am very happy to have extended my current contract with the club. It is not a usual thing for a player to sign an extension when there is still two and a half years to run. I feel that this is as a result of my performances. Just as I already have until now, I will continue to concentrate just on Vidi. I would like us to win the league this season" - commented Istvan Kovacs after signing a new deal with Videoton FC.

csakfoci.hu have named their team of the week following the 13th week of league football. Vidi's international defender was named in that team after his performance and goal against Honved.
