Roland Szolnoki and Istvan Kovacs played a part in Hungary's 2-0 U21 victory over Liechtenstein
Hungary's U21 side made it two wins in the space of a week, following their comfortable 2-0 success over Liechtenstein. On the back of last week's 2-1 win over Ireland, Vidi duo Szolnoki and Kovacs helped Antal Roth's young side to another three points in the group. Hungary were relying on Italy to beat Ireland, on the same afternoon, to achieve a third place finish. In the end it was the Irish who caused a surprise with their 4-2 away win. That meant a fourth place finish for Hungary, but a run of wins lately has given plenty of hope for the future. Hungary lined up as follows: Gulácsi Péter - Sváb Dániel, Fiola Attila, Kádár Tamás, Szolnoki Roland - Simon Ádám, Iszlai Bence - Balázs Benjámin (Beliczky Gergő, 46'), Kovács István (Balogh Balázs, 90'), Varga Roland - Futács Márkó (Balajti Ádám, 73')
Final group table:
1. Italy 19 points
2. Turkey 15 points
3. Ireland 13 points
4. Hungary 12 points
5. Liechtenstein 0 point
