Edson made his debut in the recent league cup match at Kaposvar, he played very well, and scored a goal to round things off. How did you feel out on the pitch?

I was very excited before the game with Kaposvar, as I had not played a match for a while, so I was waiting a lot for that moment. The excitement went away as we came out onto the pitch, and I was fully focused on the match. I felt really good in the team, and I was very happy to finally make my debut in a Videoton shirt.

How have your team mates been towards you, what were your first impressions of the club and town?

I can only say the best things about the team and club. My team mates welcomed me very nicely, which is very important for a player, when he moves to a new club. It helps you to perform 100%, if you feel good where you are. Everyone is very friendly and approachable in the town. I have been stopped more regularly since I made my debut and scored for Videoton. They have congratulated me and greet me warmly, which feels really good, so I feel happy in Szekesfehervar.

How much do they follow European football in Brazil?

Around 95% of Brazilians dream of playing in Europe, so they follow European football in great detail, but naturally they pay more attention to the big sides. 

Talk a little about your family. How often do you talk with them?

There are nine of us in the family, and I also have a girlfriend, who is not here in Hungary yet, but I want her to move here in January. I am in constant contact with my family, with the help of the internet. The supporters back home are also interested in how I have settled here, and what the club is like, as well as who I am playing together with. They are quite up to date with things at Videoton FC.

How did your family and friends take to you moving to Europe to play football? Did they know exactly where to find this country on a globe?

Yes, that was one of the reasons that they continuously looked in to the situation here, as they did not really know a lot about Hungary previously. The same applied to me! I did some research into Hungary and the team before I arrived, and it became obvious that the club is one of the fastest developing sides in Hungary. I can now confirm all of this to those back home, since I am here. My mother was most concerned about the cold weather.

Finally, which team do you support, and who is your favourite player?

My favourite team is Sao Paulo, while my top player is Ronaldo. The Brazilian Ronaldo.
