Another exciting night of Monicomp league football provided 17 goals in just 4 fixtures, on Tuesday evening. Second placed Paks had to win to stay in with a chance of winning the league. They managed to do this, following a 3-1 away win at Siofok. The gap between Videoton and Paks is now five points, although Videoton have to play on Wednesday against Kaposvar, and the maths are now simple: A win for Gyorgyi Mezey's side will mean champagne corks popping, and celebrations in the streets around the stadium. But the players will not have that on their minds as they run out against Kaposvar. A professional and very calm performance is required from the Videoton team! Relegated Szolnok lost at home to Debrecen on Tuesday by a 2-1 scoreline. The win for Debrecen means that they are currently fourth in the table, and two points behind third placed Ferencvaros. The final match saw Papa draw 1-1 in Budapest against Vasas. That draw did little favours to either side. 

Wednesday could turn out to be a day of celebration......

Wednesday sees Ujpest face Vidi's Hungarian cup finalists, Kecskemet. The cup final is due to be played next Tuesday 17th May, at the Ferenc Puskas stadium, in Budapest. Győri ETO have a home game with Honved, and the result of that match is very hard to predict. The final game involves relegation threatened MTK, who know that only all three points with Haladas, can rescue their chances of first division football next season.
