Manager Gyorgy Mezey takes his Videoton squad to warmer climes, when they head off to their winter training camp in Spain. They will play around five friendly games during their time there, as the coaching staff make the finishing touches ahead of the start of the spring season.

"I have vast experience in football, which is why I know that last years training camp in Turkey, did not achieve its aims. I did not feel the required motivation in a group of 30-40 people last year. I wanted to take the players to an area, where the players could go out and unwind, in between the two daily training sessions. I did not want to confine them to just the hotel area, but rather be able to get out and go for an hours walk in the area. It is important to have good facilities, but also equally as important is for the players to feel good. There should be other things to do to unwind beyond just a gym or a swimming pool. The weather should also be suitable for playing football at this time of the year. It would not be the best to go to a place which is too hot. 

It would not be good to go from a very warm climate back to the Hungarian winter. It is also important for us to come up against good opposition, and who play a different style of football. The fast pace Spanish football will help us a lot in our preparation, even if it is against second and third division sides."
