Videoton play their second pre-season friendly of the winter break on Wednesday. Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava will be the guests, with the match due to kick off at 14:00pm at the Sostoi stadium. It is a busy week's program for Gyorgy Mezey's side as they have three friendly games in a week, before they fly off to their training camp in Spain. Videoton will also have a friendly on Thursday, when they face Slovenian side Nafta Lendava. Slovan are one of the most successful sides in Slovakian football, having been founded back in 1919. They have gone on to win 9 championships and 11 domestic cups in that time. The highlight in their history came in 1969, when they beat Barcelona 3-2, in the final of the European Cup winners Cup. That was their only European trophy in their history so far.

Slovan currently lie in fifth place in their domestic league, having won six, drawn seven, and lost five, in the eighteen games to date. They are twelve points behind league leaders Zilina.  Much of that is down to their last six matches, which has seen them win none of those, while drawing five. That series of results resulted in a change of management, with 54 year old Karel Jarolim taking charge.

Slovan have already faced Hungarian opponents in this pre-season period, beating Lombard Papa 2-0, with their goals coming from Mario Bozsics and Filip Kiss. They have also lost Slovakian international Salata Kornel, who has moved to Russian side FK Rosztov for 200,000€. Videoton played the Slovakian side twice last year. That included a friendly in the summer in Austria, which the Bratislava side won 1-0. The second game was back in January 2010, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Sostoi stadium.
