The last twelve months will go down as one of the most successful for the club
MAY
1st - Videoton managed to pick up all three points away in a difficult game at Kaposvar. Ex Kaposvar players Alves and Nikolics were on target that day.
4th - MTK visit the Sostoi stadium and upset the form book by winning. This was Vidi's first taste of defeat in the year. Their unbeaten run had extended for 8 months when ZTE won at the Sostoi on the 28th August 2009.
6th - Vidi fans show how special they are by putting up banners on overhead bridges on both the M7 and M3, as the squad heads east to face Debrecen.
7th - They do not manage to pick up any points in a battling game. Debrecen pick up a much needed win over the red and blues.
11th - Videoton FC are attracting lots of attention, and many are interested in the remaining Videoton games in the league.
12th - The Hungarian FA Disciplinary Committee hand out the third punishment to the club within the month of May.
14th - Videoton pick up 3 points in a 3-0 home win at the Sostoi, with two Nikolics goals and one from Sandor. Ujpest do a major favour to Vidi, by beating Debrecen. That win means that Vidi are just one point behind "Loki" with two games left.
17th - Dinamo Kiev put a 100 million forint price tag on loan player Balazs Farkas.
19th - Videoton travel to Budapest to play Ujpest in a league game, which ends in a draw. Debrecen manage a draw on the same day, which means that they keep their one point advantage.
22nd - It is a big day in the clubs history. Vidi's golden team recorded a 1-0 away win in the UEFA Cup final, second leg against Real Madrid. That game was 25 years ago to the day.
23rd - Vidi fail at the last hurdle as they do not manage to win their first league title. The club lose away at Győr in the final league match of the season. To make things even more painful, rivals Debrecen lose their last game away at Kecskemet. Videoton end the season in second position and by a single point. Videoton produce one of their best league campaigns in their history.
24th - "To pick up a runners up spot is a tremendous achievement, and this can only be built on in the future." That is how manager Gyorgy Mezey summarizes things the day after the defeat at Győr.
25th - The club receives a major boost as the discovery of the season, Akos Elek, is called in to Erwin Koeman's national side from the U21 squad.
25th - The first Hungarian Cup final took place 100 years ago! A memorial plaque is erected, which includes the clubs name. A member of each club is invited to the 2010 Hungarian cup final, with Zsolt Dveri representing Vidi.
26th - Nemanja Nikolics ends up top goalscorer in the Soproni league. This fate was achieved twice in the past by Vidi players, with Jozsef Szabo and Tamas Petres both picking up previous awards.
29th - Videoton do very well in the youth cup, which is named the VUK Gala.
JUNE
4th - The club announced a major signing with the arrival of Mladen Bozsovics, who is the Montenegro international goalkeeper. He signs on the dotted line on a three-year deal.
5th - The Hungarian national side suffers a big defeat in Amsterdam against Holland. Akos Elek makes his international debut, coming on as a second half substitute.
8th - The manager and owner meet to discuss the season's performance, and Gyorgy Mezey remains as first team manager.
15th - The squad is further strengthened, as Sandor Hidvegi, Andras Gosztonyi and Dusan Vasziljevics all arrive in Fehervar.
16th - Good news on the youth development front. The domestic top goalscorer for the 2009/2010 season is Vidi's own U13 player Bence Varga.
18th - A new modern Vidi shop is opened in the town market square, offering the latest range of club products.
21st - Videoton are paired with Slovenian side NK Maribor in the Europa League draw.
21st - MOL announce a sponsorship deal with the club for the forthcoming 2010-2011 season.
29th - Vidi pull of a major transfer coup with the arrival of AIK Solna duo Bojan Djordjic and Martin Mutumba.
