There were only three games in the final month of 2019. Those included two in the OTP League and one in the Hungarian Cup. It was the Cup competition that kicked of December. The Hungarian Cup Round 8 saw a trip down south to the new home of Szeged on a very cold midweek lay in store for Joan Carrillo and his team. The impressive newly built Szeged stadium had 4,500 inside the Szent Gellert Forum. 

It proved to be a very close match and it took a goal in extra-time to settle the tie and put Vidi through to the next round. The winning goal came in the 103rd minute. A Nego cross saw both Patkai and Karasz rise to meet the ball and it was the home defender who got the final touch to put the ball into his own net. 

Joan Carrillo continued to work hard with his squad following his arrival to the club. A new style of play was being implemented and that required time. The game with Paks was also Carrilo's first home league match since returning to Szekesfehervar. Vidi's midweek journey to the south of Hungary did not help preparations as the green and whites visited the MOL Arena Sosto on the Saturday. Second half goals from Szabo and Konyves gave the visiting side a surprising win on what was a frustrating evening. 

However, the players would have the chance to end the year with three points away at Kisvarda before going away for the Winter break. With 42 minutes played, Patkai took a quick free kick and Stopira sent a ball in from the left, which Futacs would have met but defender Rubus stuck his leg out to score an own goal and make it 0-1. Kovacs showed good skill down the right after 48 minutes before crossing the ball in to the centre for Patkai to rise and head home (0-2).

The important three points would keep the pressure on FTC at the top going into the half season break. The players would have a short time away before reporting back for pre-season training and a Spanish training camp at the start of January 2020.
