Team captain Roland Juhasz has signed a contract extension with MOL Vidi FC. The defender joined the club in the winter of 2013 on loan from Anderlecht. That became permanent and he has gone on to play in 140 league games, which have produced 17 goals. Juhasz has helped the club to two league title successes, three second place finishes and a Hungarian cup final appearance. There have also been two league cup final matches. The experienced player has also been a rock in the heart of the Vidi defence that has qualified for the Europa League group stage. 

"I am happy that the club still has faith in me at this level, especially taking into account that the season has only really just started. This is a very positive thing for a player of my age. I spent 8 years with MTK at the start of my playing career. I then moved to Anderlecht and remained there for a further 7 seasons. When my current deal with Vidi ends in the summer of 2020, I can then say that I have spent 7 and a half years with the club. I have said previously that I would like to end my playing career with Vidi. It now looks certain that this will be the case. I would like to thank my team mates, the management and also Zoltan Kovacs for the faith shown in me. I feel good and the most important is that I can play as long as I can help the team and remain a key player. Many have asked what motivates me at 35 years old. I would like to win the Hungarian cup with Vidi for example. You cannot ever get bored of winning the league title. So there is still plenty that motivates me. It feels great that we will be competing this year in the Europa League group stage. We were capable of making it into the Champions League group stage, so we would like to fight for this next year. The whole team is looking forward to moving back to the new Sostoi stadium in Szekesfehervar. The team belongs to the city and not only the supporters, but the players will be delighted to play in the new stadium" - commented Roland Juhasz.

We have agreed on extending his current contract by a further year until the summer of 2020. I am delighted that he continues to feel the strength and motivation to continue playing.
