33 years ago, just a couple of days after Vidi's UEFA cup game with Dukla Prague that saw the red and blues go through, Vidi travelled to play Ferencvaros in front of 20,000 in Budapest. The Nepsport newspaper journalist wrote "the only remaining Hungarian side in cup competition managed to repeat their success on the pitch at the Ulloi Ut stadium." With 34 minutes on the clock, (L Disztl went off through injury), and was replaced by Otto Gomori who scored the only goal of the game after 81 minutes. That kept the pressure on top of the table Honved. Vidi would eventually finish in third place that season with FTC ending in 13th position. Third place came on top of the legendary UEFA cup run that saw the team reach the final.

25 years ago Vidi defeated the previous seasons champions Vacs with some lovely goals at the Sostoi. Vac arrived to Fehervar on the back of 6 wins and 2 defeats on the 7th October 1992 to play an inconsistant Vidi side. Gabor Hartyani's team had won 4 and lost 3 as well as drawn 1 of their 8 league games. The game was played on a Wednesday evening in front of 7500. Salloi scored a lovely header to give Videoton the lead before the home side settled the match in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Lajos Takacs and Istvan Salloi scored further goals while Attila Kuttor ended a lovely move with a good finish. Janos Csank's Vac side were rattled and did not recover. Vac did manage to score consolation goals towards the end but it was Vidi that were celebrating as they moved up to 6th place.

3 years ago with 9 wins in a row behind them, Vidi travelled to Pecs in match 10 of the season. The home team went into the game in 9th place with the game played in heavy rain down in southern Hungary. The first third of the game saw cautious football before Nikolics broke the deadlock with a lovely strike. An own goal right on half time resulted in Vidi going in at the break with a two goal lead. Vidi remained unbeaten with a 100% record in the first 10 games to set a new club record as Vidi had never previously conceded so few goals within 10 games and a total of just 3! Videoton would go on to celebrate their second title success at the end of the season while Pecs ended 11th.
