The draw for the Q3 stage of the Europa League was made on Friday. French side Girondins Bordeaux could be the opponents in the next round if Vidi can make it through against Kalju in the second leg on the 20th July 2017. The first leg would be in the French city of Bordeaux with the return leg in Felcsut.

The six times French champions return to European action after a one year gap. Girondins Bordeaux have also won the French cup four times in their history. They last reached the group stage of the Europa League in 2015, but have also been active in the Champions League over the last 10 years: In 2010 only a single goal was the difference in them reaching the semifinals, which finally Olympique Lyon ended up going through. They most recently finished in 6th place in the Ligue 1, but with the French cup and league cup being won by PSG, that meant that they could qualify for Europe this summer. Their current squad includes Jaroslav Plasil, Toulalan, Contento, Gajics and Rolán but they also had world class players back in the 1980's including Alain Giresse who was perhaps the best known. Their squad is valued at around 73 million euros.
