Following on from the successful performances in France during the summer at the European Championships, Hungary kick off their World Cup qualifiers shortly. The World Cup in Russia is the aim as the first match will be played in September. It will be a difficult task for Hungary with Portugal also in the group. A total of 13 European countries will qualify together with Russia. The group winners and the next 8 best runners up will go into the play off's. Hungary's group includes Portugal, Switzerland, Faroe Islands, Latvia and Andorra. 

Bernd Storck has called up three Videoton players in his squad. They are Istvan Kovacs, Adam Kovacsik and Adam Lang. The squad that will head off to the training camp on the 22nd August is:
