Danish side Midtjylland  beat Lithuanian side Sūduva Marijampolė in Q1 of the Europa League. They won both legs 1-0. They faced Liechtenstein side Vaduz in Q2 and won 3-0 in Denmark. The return leg saw four goals shared in a 2-2 draw. 

The Danes led 2-0 but Vaduz came back with two late goals to level. They also played with ten men against Midtjylland. However, there was never any doubt that they would go through after their comfortable first leg win. Vidi's next opponents went through 5-2 on aggregate. Pione Sisto has scored 4 of their 5 goals in the Europa League. The 21 year old forwards will need to be carefully watched over the two legs. He scored twice against Manchester United last season in the Europa League.

The Danish league kicked off and Midtjylland drew 2-2 in their opening game against Randers.

Midtjylland have a squad that is valued at around the 18,5 million euro mark. Pione Sisto is valued at 3,5 million euros. 

History

FC Midtjylland was founded by Johnny Rune and Steen Hessel.

The two men wanted to unite the football clubs Ikast FS (founded 1935) and Herning Fremad (founded 1918) – clubs that for decades had been strong rivals. In 1999, a deal was finalized. A year later in 2000 FC Midtjylland were promoted to the Danish Superliga. The 15 or so years since then has seen them win the league title twice and the Danish cup four times. They won their first domestic league title in 2015. They have been regulars in European competition with games against Manchester City, Vitoria SC, Young Boys, Panathinaikos, Southampton, Napoli, Brugge, Manchester United and Legia Warsaw.
