We had a lengthy interview the Bosnian player, which included many interesting topics.

- How do you feel now that you have become a Videoton player?
I am happy that I have become a Videoton FC player. I started my career at home in Bosnia with FK Sarajevo. They are all aware of the name of Videoton at that club. I did not really follow Hungarian football before I moved to this country in 2013. However, it is Videoton that I really knew about from the past. That is because the people from Sarajevo remember back 30 years ago to the Željezničar - Videoton UEFA cup semi-final match and the drama that it included. I am proud to be able to continue my career here.
- We had another Bosnian player at the club ten years ago, who also had a good career in Hungary.
Yes, I know who you are thinking about. I do not personally know Mario Bozic, but I have heard about him and that he played several years for Vidi, and then after at Ujpest.
- At what age did you start playing football?
It has been quite interesting for me as I did not start playing at the same young age as others. I was around 16-17 when I started to take football seriously. I mainly focused on futsal at a young age, and actually thought that it was that sport that I would follow. My father is a professor, and he placed great emphasis on my education. Perhaps this is the reason that I remained in school for so long. The then FK Sarajevo coach, Mirza Varesanovic saw me and it is thanks to him that I got my first contract at 19. I played for three years in Sarajevo, before moving to Hungary two years ago and Ujpest. Now I am here at Videoton.
- Your shirt number at Ujpest was 99 and you have chosen the same number at Vidi. What is the significance behind this number?
Yes, I was also 99 at FK Sarajevo. Why is the 99 so important? Very simple. I am religious and the number is very significant in the Muslim religion. There are 99 names for Allah.
- You have been playing two years in Hungary. What is your opinion about Hungarian football?
There are many differences between Hungarian and Bosnian football. You can look at the stadiums or training complexes. I feel that the biggest problem today in Hungary is the missing talented young footballers in the first division. There are no young Hungarian players playing at a high level abroad. The Hungarian FA has done a lot this season to try and change things. Let's be honest, if all foreign players would not play in the Hungarian league, and you would have only Hungarian players, the level would decrease a lot in the first division. This is my opinion. The new regulations by the Hungarian FA could see some results in the years to come.
- What are your thoughts about Vidi when you were playing for Ujpest?
My first match was against Videoton at the Sostoi stadium. We lost that match 3-0. There were some tough games between the two sides following that. I always considered Videoton as a strong team, whether they were playing at home or away.
- What plans have you arrived with in Szekesfehervar?
I have no special plans. When I arrived at Ujpest, I did not have any plans either. I always wanted to do the best I can in every match I play in. Playing well, scoring goals, providing assists and helping the team to win. I think the same applies to all players. I do not have plans to play at a big team in 2-3 years' time. I just want to show in each game that it was worth signing me. But do you know what? I do have a big plan. I would like to play in big European games for Vidi. I played in the Europa League for Sarajevo. Those were the best games for me. I would like to experience similar matches with Videoton.
- What is the situation with the Bosnian national team?
That is an interesting question. There were many times last year when many thought that I would make it into the Bosnian national team. However, I did not get the chance to make my debut for the national side. I feel that my chances of playing for my country will increase now that I am at Videoton. They are one of the best sides in Hungary.

Pátkai Máté lett a 4. játéknap legjobbja.
