Videoton have never managed to win more than four games at the start of a season. These two came in season 2009/10 when Vidi recorded wins over Kecskemet, DVTK, Papa and Honved, with Haladas eventually ending the run. The red and blues started last season with wins over Haladas, Ferencvaros, Pecs and Paks, before drawing away at Győr. The run of matches that is most similar to the current one came in 1999-2000 when Vidi picked up 101 points, scoring 104 goals and conceding just 19. which helped them to win the second division championship. That season started win 5 consecutive wins and a goal difference of 14-1. 

The situation overall looks even better when you look at the first division. Only Ujpest have managed to begin a season with five wins, although they have done this three times. Those came in season 1971-72 with 5 wins and a 17-2 goal difference. The 1976/77 season had a goal difference of 19-3 in the opening 5 games while the 1994/95 campaign saw a 24-6 difference. Vidi are following Ujpest this season with a current 16-2 goal difference.

Vidi could become the third side from the countryside to win 6 games in a row. Győr have managed this twice in 1997/98 with 8 wins, and again in 2011/12 with 7 wins. Debrecen have done this once with 7 wins in season 2011/12. Both Ujpest and MTK have succeeded putting together longer runs during league seasons.
