There are things that are just as important from a point of view in both Manchester and Fehervar

Manchester United manager, David Moyes has very similar thoughts when it comes to defending young talent, just as our manager, José Gomes commented on after the league match with Budapest Honvéd.

Manchester United boss, David Moyes, recently expressed his opinion in the Guardian interview, speaking in favour about his young talented player, Adnan Januzaj. The young player was brutally kicked by Sascha Reiter, during their weekend 3-1 win at Fulham, which went unpunished by the match official. Moyes looking back at the case is sure that the foul was deliberate, and raised his voice about the continuous fouls that are exposing the young 18 year old, which are all happening without consequences. His comments applied to the recent league games against Southampton and Stoke City. The United boss feels that more should be done by match officials to protect players of similar quality as Adnan Januzaj.

José Gomes spoke in front of the TV camera following the recent league match at home to Budapest Honved. In that interview, the Videoton manager said that Hungarian people like good football, enjoy the technical and talented players, but in order for them to be able to really show what they are capable of, then they need to be protected. Time was short after that match for the manager to express his opinion in detail, so we asked him to do just that.

"All I wanted to bring to the attention was the fact that when a team systematically builds irregularities into the way it defends, there is only one person that can protect the players and football as a whole, which is the referee. These situations apart from killing football can very easily cause injury to those players, who tend to have more possession of the ball, and who are technically more skilled, the talented ones. This naturally applies to any player in any age group, but a talented youngster can have his playing career broken in two at the very beginning, just as there was an example of this recently in the Hungarian league. If the match official allows this to go on, and we - and now the "we" represents all of the managers - do not complain against this, then this means that we are not doing all we can for those players. If we really want development to improve the quality of Hungarian football, then we have to protect attacking football.   - explained José Gomes.
