Videoton FC finished the current league season in second place in the OTP table.
Videoton collected their eighth medal finish since 1968, in the top division of Hungarian football. The record so far reads, one championship title (2011), four second place finishes (1976, 2010, 2012, 2013), and a further three where Vidi ended in third place (1984, 1985, 2006).
The first top three ending to a league season came in the 1975/76 campaign. The red and blues of Fehervar collected 44 points during that season, finishing just two points behind Ferencvaros. Videoton next saw a top three place in the spring of 1984, when they ended in third place, with exactly the same amount of points as second place Raba ETO. The champions that season were BP Honved, with Vidi beating the Budapest side home and away during that season. The top three place secured a place in the UEFA cup, which saw Ferenc Kovacs' side make it all the way to the two-legged final with Real Madrid.
That was a very good period for Videoton, who were regularly involved in the fight for the league title. Another third place finish came in the spring of 1985 to cap a good year. There was a wait of around ten years before further success in the domestic league. The spring of 2006 saw Vidi fight for top spot right until the final round of fixtures. However, they had to settle for third place behind Debrecen and Ujpest. There was also a memorable final league match that season at the national stadium, which saw Vidi beat Ujpest 3-1.
The most recent period has also been very successful for Videoton FC. The last four years have seen Vidi secure a top two place, resulting in one top place finish and three runners up places. The red and blues came second in the 2010-11 campaign, hot on the heels of eventual champions Debrecen. Further success came a year later when Gyorgy Mezey's side won the domestic title. Vidi picked up a record 66 points last season, but that was still not enough to overtake Debrecen, who went through the season unbeaten.
José Gomes' side have just ended this season in second place to add to the impressive statistics. Everyone is hopeful that Vidi can make it two league title wins next season!

A lengthy interview with the young defender, who not only looks back, but also ahead to next season.

The striker scored 18 goals in 2014, which he did similarly back in 2010.

Debrecen have won the league title for the seventh time in their history.

The two sides came to a mutual understanding as of the 2nd June.

A goal from Nemanja Nikolics ensured a point at home to DVTK on Sunday.

The two managers spoke to the media shortly after the final whistle.
